Hola from Spain

Hello Friends,

We have been in Spain for a couple weeks now and life is starting to settle a little.  Moving is stressful and I have had moments of frustration and tears, but for the most part we are enjoying our time here.  We have a nice 4 bedroom house about 15 minutes from the beach.  It is a little strange getting used to the Spanish house.  Though some of the things I thought would be the hardest haven't been bad at all.
I thought the lack of dryer and overly small washer would be awful, but I find it quite relaxing hanging up laundry and the tiny washer actually cleans things really well.
The kitchen here is a lot smaller than I am used to, which means that of course there is no dishwasher, but my kids have enjoyed washing the dishes by hand.  My oldest actually told me he enjoys doing jobs together and we should never have a dishwasher again.

We still have no internet, so posting will continue to be sporadic, but hopefully soon.

Besos, Katie

So I wonder how long the kids will like doing dishes? We didn't have one when I was a kid, though and we survived, somehow. I seriously need to figure out how to come visit you. The most exotic place I've ever been is Canada.

When you and your siblings were little we didn't have a dishwasher and washing dishes was a family affair. I enjoyed it too. Working together is such a good thing for kids to do. I also loved haing out my clothes. I don't think I will do it much here in NY. I could handle 15 minutes from the beach. I am anxious to talk to you. I have been checking prices on flights to Spain. They are doable. Love, Mom

Glad to know things are going good. After some trial Geraldine arrived in Utah on Sunday. We have been fevershly cleaning out Grandma's house since then. Not a task we wanted to do but had to be done non the less. It has gone good and been nice to be around family. Glad you have your van. That had to be a little rough without it:)
